My own kitbash, using the uniform of the combat soldier and adding the parachute pack and life preserver.
D-Day
Combat soldiers with full kit, wading ashore at Normandy, June 6 1944.
Guadalcanal
Marine dressed in second issue Camo uniform and photographed against a backdrop pic of Guadalcanal.
Edinburgh Castle
Argyle & Sutherland Highlander. Inspired by a visit to Edinburgh Castle.
Pilot
Bought this recently as a complete figure/uniform combination, I don't usually buy complete sets, as I enjoy building them up. This can however be quite expensive, so when this guy became available, I couldn't resist. He fits in well with my US uniformed Action Men. He is a first issue GI Joe figure, the only one in my collection.
Armoured Car Commander
As a child growing up in Northern Ireland, I was obviously surrounded by the military in the late 60s early 70s. I would often see this type of vehicle on the roads, and have recreated the image here.
Armoured Personnel Carrier
My first AM vehicle as a child, has been fully restored and has pride of place in my collection.
Polar Explorer
This is my only bearded Adventurer. I have had him from new and his condition is absolutely perfect. He became my Polar Explorer soon after I got him, and recently I restored him to this role and have now completed most of the kit and replaced those items which over the years became damaged or lost.
Mountain & Arctic
Last Issue Mountain & Arctic on the requisite Eagle Eye figure. This guy I also bought recently as a complete set. I really like this figure and uniform, both are in mint condition.
Jungle Patrol
Inspired by the Pacific campaign of WW11, this photograph was taken in my garden and features a Marine figure and an Observation Post figure. The Marine is the AM I got from the 'Star' scheme in the early 70s, he is a soft paint head, the other figure is an early realistic hair model.
Early Action Man advertisement from the 1960s showing prominent branding, product information and a reply device for the supply of an equipment manual.
